Before motherhood, you might have a relatively strict exercise routine going on. Your workout regularly, you’re eating a healthy diet, and everything is going well for you. But, becoming a mom means your life completely changes. As such, exercise takes a backseat as your baby becomes more of a priority. Then, the years go by, and you just feel like you can’t exercise for numerous reasons.
In reality, any mom can get fit and live a healthy life! Most of the time, the reasons you can’t are nothing more than excuses. So, here are a few of the most common excuses, along with some advice to get around them!
I don’t have enough time
Anyone that says they don’t have enough time to exercise is just a liar. It may sound harsh, but even the busiest people can spare fifteen or so minutes on most days. Think about it, your kids go to bed pretty early, so you should have a few hours of spare time every evening at the very least. It’s almost like people view exercise as something that must be done by a particular time, or else you can’t do it.
So, if you’re busy until like 5 or 6 pm, then apparently you don’t have any free time at all. This isn’t the case, and you only need 10 or 15 minutes to get a workout in. There are high-intensity workouts that last that duration, burn loads of calories, and help maintain your fitness. So, no more excuses; you’ve got plenty of time to exercise!
I don’t know what to do
Even if you used to exercise a lot, it’s still hard to get back into the swing of things and actually figure out what you should do. What kind of workout is going to help you? How do you do certain exercises? There are so many concerns, so you end up just doing nothing and using your lack of direction as an excuse.
But, as this fitness blog shows, you can find a way around this with ease. There are loads of online workout plans you can follow that are designed for moms by moms, giving you all the direction you need. Now, you know exactly what to do, so this is no longer an excuse.
I can’t afford to exercise
Perhaps my favorite excuse is that exercise is too expensive. Normally, this refers to the cost of a gym membership or regular fitness classes. Granted, there are some of you who can’t afford these luxuries. However, that doesn’t give you an excuse to be lazy! There are millions of exercise routines you can do in the comfort of your home, out in a park – anywhere. What’s more, they’re either free or have very minimal costs. Claiming that money is the issue is a cop-out; exercising is only expensive if you choose for it to be that way.
See, there are simple ways of getting around some of the most common exercise excuses we use all the time. If you’re a mom that always tells herself she’ll get back into fitness, but then uses these excuses, now’s your time to change things!
