Content Suggestions For Blogs and Social Media

If you’re looking to build up a digital presence by utilizing a blog or social media, top of your to-do list should be making sure you are turning out high-quality content that is relevant to your target audience. This is easier said than done because your background might not be in writing. For those of you looking for ideas on how to attract readers to your sites, here are some suggestions for you and how to implement them.

Headlines

One of the first things that you should practice getting confident at is writing catchy headlines for your content that will attract your audience. This seems like it only applies to blogs, but a good headline should fit into a social media post and create a desire for the reader to interact with your post.

For example, if you’re writing an investment blog and you would like to hitch your wagon to the growing trend of cryptocurrencies, then you might write a blog with the headline, “Why it can be easy to trade cryptocurrencies.’ Immediately, anyone interested in this topic or investing will be interested in your proposition. This is better than just saying “Here is a blog on cryptocurrency.” One promises a solution the other is vague.

Knowledgeable and Original Content

If you’ve decided to start writing a blog and posting on social media, then you should have something to say. The previously mentioned finance blogger will be bringing their experience and knowledge to the blog and should not shy away from demonstrating that. Your audience will expect a certain level of confidence in your writing, but they also want you to tell them something they can’t get elsewhere.

Your social media shouldn’t just be loaded with retweets and content that has no relevance to your blog; rather it should be used as a form of window dressing for your main content. Create intrigue on social media and then reel them in on your website, keep them coming back for more with original posts but most importantly with your knowledge.

Accuracy

It shouldn’t need saying, but you would be surprised at the number of blogs who don’t pay attention to the accuracy of their writing. Some suggestions here include checking your data is up-to-date, there is no point advising a reader on information that is years old, and they quickly let you know by not coming back. But, accuracy doesn’t just apply to statistics and claims.

If you’re writing a blog or social media content, your readers should be able to read through it without any difficulty. Make sure that your grammar and spelling is accurate and accessible. Your language should be appropriate for the reader, and any technical terms should be explained clearly or links to definitions provided.

To help you with this there are tools on the internet such as Grammarly that will proofread your work and offer recommendations for changes you should make.
