Do you know someone who absolutely adores the movies? They might spend as much of their free time in the cinema as possible, or they perhaps love searching Netflix to see what hidden gems they can uncover. They will also know lots of movie trivia. If you ask them about any film or actor, I’m sure they will be able to reel off a lot of interesting facts about them.
However, some movie lovers can be very hard to buy for. After all, what do you get someone who loves nothing more than hanging out in their local movie theater? The usual chocolates and flowers might not cut it. But there’s no need to worry just yet. I’ve been thinking long and hard about the best gifts for people who love the movies, and I think I’ve cracked it. Read on to find out about my favorite gift ideas for those out there who love the bright lights of Hollywood!
Their Very Own Director’s Chair
If you have ever seen any behind-the-scenes shots of any movies, then you will have no doubt noticed that the director always has their very own seat on set. Normally, it says “director” in big letters on the back of it. Well, why not get your friend or relative one of these? I’m sure they will love having a director’s chair to sit in when they are watching their favorite movies. If you want to go one step better, you might like the idea of getting it customized. There are lots of companies that sell these chairs with the option of adding a name on the back in place of “director”. I’m sure that will put a huge smile on your friend’s face when they open it!
Do you know what your friend’s favorite movie is? If so, you could look for a poster of it. You’ll be able to find various film posters on websites like AllPosters. A film poster will look fantastic on a wall in their living room. You might even want to get it framed so that it looks extra stylish. Not only will the frame make it look better, but it will also protect it too. If you don’t know what your friend’s favorite movie is, you could just get some artistic movie posters of cult or critically acclaimed movies for them. These will look super sophisticated in any home.
Props From Their Favorite Movie
Another great idea is to buy them some props that appear in their favorite movie. There are lots of dealers and traders that sell these kinds of things online, and if you check online auction sites like eBay, you’ll be able to find a lot of props going for very reasonable prices. I’m sure your friend would love to own their own little piece of a movie. If they are a big fan of the Back To The Future trilogy, then you might want to look online here at a hoverboard. Then they’ll be able to whizz around their house just like Marty McFly! So, whether you want to buy a costume for a specific film or a small piece of scenery, I’m sure you’ll be able to find what you are looking for online.
If your friend is a huge movie fan, then I’m sure they will have a favorite actor. And wouldn’t they love to own that actor’s autograph? If you are lucky to live near Hollywood or another international film studio, then you could try waiting until that particular star comes to town to make their next film. If you strike it right, you could get them to sign a poster or something else. Don’t think you’ll be bumping into any movie stars anytime soon? No problem! There are lots of websites that sell signatures and autographs from most of Hollywood starlets. In fact, eBay is a great place to start your search.
A Cinema Pass
A good gift for anyone is something that feeds their passion or hobby. So, if your movie-loving pal loves spending evenings and weekends in the cinema, why not buy them a pass? Most movie theaters offer annual passes that let the cardholder get into screenings for a reduced price. They might offer other deals and discounts, such as a reduction on snacks and drinks. If your friend doesn’t go to the cinema that much, you might want to buy them a year’s subscription for an online movie streaming platform, such as Amazon Prime or Netflix. That way, they can watch all of the latest releases in the comfort of their own home.
For friends who are both a movie nerd and a bookworm, you might want to head to your nearest bookshop and get them some books about the movies. There are loads of great trivia books out there that I’m sure your friend will love to get their hands on. You might even want to buy them their favorite actor’s autobiography.
A Popcorn Maker
One of the best things about going to the cinema has to be the popcorn! I mean, did you even go to the cinema if you didn’t buy a big bucket of popcorn?! Well, why not let your friends have a fantastic cinema experience in their own home by gifting them their very own popcorn maker. Now they won’t have to just make do with lame popcorn out of the microwave. Popcorn makers shouldn’t be too hard to find as they are now available in most homeware stores. If you can’t find one in a shop, you can always order one online.
DVDs and Blu-Rays
If none of the gifts mentioned above seem to cut the mustard, you could always buy your friend a bundle of good-old DVDs or Blu-Rays. You might want to buy some rare films so that there’s a good chance they receive a movie that they’ve never seen before!
Hopefully, some of these brilliant gift ideas will appeal to your movie-loving friends and relatives!
