You are always looking on Instagram at influencers who seemingly have the perfect balance in life. They get up at 5 am for a workout; they have a stunningly beautiful breakfast plate and they always manage to look flawless all at the same time. Why isn’t everything this easy for you? First of all, you need to stop comparing yourself to others and concentrate on your own wellbeing. Whether you’re trying to improve your mental health or kick a bad habit that you know is bad for your body, there are a few small changes that you can make every day that will make a huge difference to your health.
Put Down the Cigarette
You already know that smoking is a bad habit you need to kick to the curb right now, so why not take the plunge and just do it? Picking up a cigarette becomes a comfort blanket rather than a serious addiction sometimes, so seek advice from your doctor and get onto a smoking ban plan. You might also want to research e-juice deals if this is something that interests you instead. Taking up another healthier habit might just help you to put down the cigarette once and for all too.
Take the Stairs
If you’re the type of person who ends up huffing and puffing after running for the bus, then you might need to incorporate some more exercise into your daily routine. Simple switches such as taking the stairs instead of the escalator or getting off the bus a couple of stops early will help to improve your fitness levels little by little. Try walking a bit more during your normal working day; go for a stroll on your lunch break and take regular screen breaks away from your desk. Increasing your daily exercise will help you to feel more energized from the moment you wake up in the morning.
Say No to Sugar
Your energy levels can be a little bit up and down throughout the day and this might because you’re consuming far too much sugar on a daily basis. When you have an energy crash in the afternoon the last thing you should do is reach for a coffee or sugary snack, as this will only be a temporary fix. Try to keep your blood sugar levels steady throughout the day by eating nuts, seeds, fruit, and other wholesome energy sources otherwise you will be up and down like a rollercoaster. Keep a food diary so that you can track your mood when you consume certain foods; once you find a pattern you will be able to find an eating plan that works for you personally.
Spend More Time Alone
Nowadays it can be very easy to overload your schedule with lunch dates, work meetings, and other social activities. Spending more time with yourself can actually be much better for your health and is it gives you the chance to refocus on your goals. Spend some more time alone in the upcoming weeks and see how much better you feel as a result.
If you can factor all of these things into your daily life, you will start to feel much healthier overall.
