We can think of many things worse than not being able to get a full night’s sleep, but we have to admit that it’s well and truly up there with some of the most annoying things to occur in our life. For some people, being stuck without getting a full night’s sleep is a real problem that they’re facing all of the time. However, it’s not just because they’re glued to a phone all of the time. Sometimes, there are certain conditions getting in the way of the quality of sleep that a person can. These are the ones that we want to talk about today, and how to improve your outcome of getting a nice full nights sleep.
There are many different sleep conditions that will disrupt you getting a full night’s sleep. Some of them are medically known, some of them are a phenomenon that people are trapped with. For example, sleep apnea is something you might not realize you have until you find yourself tired on a daily basis, or waking up during the night often. It’s where you temporarily stop breathing. If it happens enough in concession, you could end up losing oxygen supply to your brain. Once it’s diagnoses, it is pretty easy to deal with.
All you need is a CPAP machine at home, and a CPAP cleaner to make sure that it stays free of any germs. Because breathing into that all night creates a nice warm environment for germs to grow. This can lead to illnesses in the person who is using them. Other sleep conditions include sleep paralysis, which is where people wake up during the night but are unable to move their legs or arms, or any of their body. There might be visions as well as if still in a dream. It can be a rather shocking experience for whoever is going through it. There is no cure or prevention at the minute, although some therapists believe it could be related to trauma.
Better Nights Sleep
If you want to get a better night’s sleep, there are a few things that you can try and do to help the process. One of them is using things such as lavender. Which is known for its calming properties, and the ability to induce a deep sleep? You could also try taking a long warm bath before bed. It naturally relaxes the body and sends it to a state that’s ready to sleep for the night. You could also focus on leaving technology behind an hour before you want to go to sleep.
Dealing With Side Effects
The obvious side effect of a lack of sleep is fatigue the next day. To try and combat it, we would advise that you stay away from caffeine. Whilst it might give you a temporary boost of energy. It’ll make you feel super low again a while after. Focus on getting fresh air, staying hydrated, and giving yourself regular breaks from tasks that require a lot of brain work. Eating the right foods with lots of energy can also help.
